Is your Sage 50 Payroll compliant?  New Software Update Available NOW!

Get ready for the important National Insurance Government announcement – New National Insurance rates!

This will come into effect from 6 November 2022. This means that Sage have had to release an update for their Sage 50 Payroll software to be compliant with the changes. Do not worry you will be notified by email and the Software Advice Centre in your ‘My sage’ account once this update is available to install.

Lucky for you we have a step-by-step guide below for you to prepare for the install of this update.

  • Check that your Antivirus software does not have a detection error.

To ensure that the automatic update downloads and installs successfully, you need to allow or add the file to your exception list.

  • Make sure that your database is organised and ready to be upgraded.

To do this you must:

Close Sage payroll (Ensure everyone is logged out) > Open the Sage Payroll software> On the open company window, click the company you would like to check> Click Optomise.

  • Run the Payroll Software as an administrator

This helps to ensure that Payroll has access to all the files and data that it needs

To do this you must:

Right click the icon for Sage 50cloud Payroll> Properties> Compatibility> Select the checkbox besides ‘Run this program as an administrator’ > Apply> Ok
