Sage Payroll – Year End Update 2 available from Friday 27th March & Coronavirus legislation

This will not include any updates to cover the Coronovirus changes, such as the Coronavirus Job Retention scheme.  However, Sage are currently investigating how their payroll software can assist with the classification of these workers and extraction of the necessary information you will need to submit to HMRC about your furloughed employees and their earnings.

There will be no updates around the new SSP regulations around the Coronavirus, but it is possible to make new Pay elements and Custom absence types for this.  Contact us if you need further information.

A brief outline of what is included is shown below:

  • New legislation for the 2020/21 tax year

  • The new employment allowance application process

  • Parental bereavement leave and pay

  • Class 1A NICs on termination payments

  • A new, easier company car calculation

  • Zero emissions mileage for company cars

The second year end update for Sage 50 Payroll is being released on Friday 27th March.

This includes new legislation for the 2020/21 tax year and needs to be installed prior to your first Pay Run after 6th April 2020, the start of the new tax year.  This is only available for version 26.00, so please make sure that you are on the correct version by going to help>about in your software before you try to install it!  If you aren’t, and need help upgrading, please contact us for assistance.
