Windows Update issues – April 2019

We have had a number of calls today from customers who have got stuck on a ‘configuring windows’ screen when they started their computers.
It appears that updates released last night for both Windows 7 and Windows 10 have had something in them which some machines are fine with, others do not like.
For the moment, we are suggesting that our customers hold off installing Windows updates for the next week or so, just to give Microsoft the opportunity to release a fixed version of the patch.
Microsoft security patches are very important to have, so please don’t stop permanently updating your computers – just wait a little while with this week’s updates.
