We have been advised that users of older versions (v23 and below) of Sage 50 Accounts are seeing a prompt when they log in about the Government Gateway Changes. DON’T PANIC ABOUT THIS!!!
To put this simply, once the new system is put in place by the Government after February 2018, unless you are using Sage 50 Accounts v24, it will no longer be possible to submit your VAT Return, EC Sales list or CIS Return through the Sage software directly.
If you submit your information manually through the Government Gateway, you will not be affected. However, if you utilise the functionality in your Sage 50 Accounts software, the ONLY way you will be able to continue doing this is by upgrading to v24. For some of you out there, this must be the excuse you are looking for to justify the upgrade to your management – obviously it is not the only improvement that is included in v24, but is a big driver for Sage users to get up to date.
