We thought we give you a brief overview of making tax digital and how you can be prepared for the changes.
Why has MTD is coming into force
The government’s view is that using digital technology will make it easier for businesses to get their tax right. Their aim is to reduce uncertainty that businesses could encounter when HMRC intervenes to correct any errors.
What making tax digital mean?
If you’re a VAT business then you will need to move to digital book keeping-with effect from 19th April 2019.
What happens if I’m not a VAT registered business?
It is completely optional – but recommended as:
1-You ever decided to become VAT registered
2-It could help you gain an insight with cash flow forecasting
(For any other taxes, digital doesn’t come into effect until at least April 2020).
